BLEEDING EDGE MONOTONE

Salutations. I am BLEEDING EDGE MONOTONE - you may call me whatever you like. I am an artist, animator and musician from the United States with over 5 years of experience in digital artistry.I draw graphic designs, fictional characters and conceptual/prototypical designs, in addition to composing my own music on piano and of the Black MIDI subgenre of electronic/noise music.

I primarily compose for the Black MIDI format - colloquially known as "Impossible Piano" of which I have an annual competition (S.A.B.C.O.M.) staged in the Black MIDI Community Hub - As of the time of writing (9/11/2026) I am working on IX/9, SYSTEM SEVERANCE and CODENAME VENERATION.I draw with a GAOMON M10K, and my main art program is CLIP STUDIO PAINT EX 4.0.1 - prior to this I used an XP-PEN tablet that broke and Medibang Paint Pro (which was free, but still worked amazingly until I purchased CLIP STUDIO PAINT.) Occasionally I do animation on Flipnote Studio under the old username MorseHorse which I've since retired following a "rebrand."My current speedcubing main is the MoYu RS3M-v5 with tighter tensions and my personal best at the time of writing is 18 seconds, with an average of about 25-35 seconds per solve. I use CFOP - Cross, Intuitive F2L, 2look OLL and 2look PLL. I plan on fully learning advanced CFOP once I'm ready.

Around 2017-2018 was when I really began to draw and write things out. In 2018 after hearing of Rain World, I made my own Iterator Sona which would eventually evolve into my namesake, Bleeding Edge Monotone. He, along with many other Iterator sonas I have, would go on to become The United Vialists which is an ongoing novel I am writing. To this day he is still my favorite character to draw.In 2018-2019 I saw "This Is Life with Lisa Ling," a CNN special series on viewing the inner workings of communities. One in particular caught my eye: the furry fandom. On a whim I decided it looked fun, so I designed my first ever fursona: Sonar the Wolf. Yes, how creative. Following Sonar was Stargate (Another wolf...), and then Chaos, a Protogen that would become my main fursona for some time. Chaos would go on to evolve into MAGISTR.A, a protogen with an affinity for judgement - which I later re-overhauled with a new design. CNN turned me into a furry.Following that was the creation of Brandon which to this day is my longest standing sona that I still regularly draw and use. He took heavy inspiration from Oxob, a popular RHG/Stickfighting character for his lightning abilities. In recent weeks I've since re-adapted his "lore" to be focused on his species' namesake, dutch ANGEL dragons, and overhauled his design to be more mechanical and Y2K/Cyberpunk.At this point in time I created my first major social media account, TheMorseHorse, which I've since abandoned the namesake for negative connotation and also to give myself a bit of a fresh start on both Twitter and Discord, my primary forms of communication. As of now, I have taken a bit of a break from drawing constantly like I used to due to burnout. However, I still do draw on occasion - my attention has simply fallen elsewhere to things of slightly more important value.

Here are some of my earliest works - featuring the first sona I ever created that night I watched that special. Not very creative, but we all start somewere - followed by more deliberate designs, to the time I got my first drawing tablet which I still use today!

Next are my first few actual rendered pieces, followed by my development of color theory and shading technique. There's a very big leap in quality once you hit that third image and start moving up from there, as this was when my need to draw skyrocketed.

And now in the modern era here, are some of my best works. This was when I started painting much better, and remade that previous image you see in the row above this one on the left. My art AND my characters have evolved greatly over the years, I think.
